Relax and enjoy a coffee looking out over a peaceful bush location. There's something for everybody at Top Didj & Art Gallery whether you're a serious collector on the lookout for a piece of investment art, with providence, or the souvenir hunter with an eye for a keep-sake memory. Your cultural experience is in a controlled environment which is ideal for families. The owners are wildlife carers so there is usually an Agile Wallaby to feed.
Join your Top Didj Cultural Experience tour at the Top Didj Cultural Experience & Art Gallery at 363 Gorge Rd, to commence a 2.5 hour Interpretive Experience. Based in Katherine in the Northern Territory since 2000 Top Didj holds something for everyone. Winner of the Brolga award in 2010 for Aboriginal Tourism and in 2013 Manuel, the resident guide, won the Brolga Award for outstanding interpretive guide. After playing a tune on his didgeridoo and telling you stories of growing up in the bush the traditional way, Manuel will teach you how to paint your own Rarrk painting using a special reed brush called a Julk. Have a go at fire lighting the traditional way. Participate in spear throwing with a woomera. Get to see the resident wallabies. Best quality Aboriginal Art and Craft with many of the works created on site. Top Didj Cultural Experience & Art Gallery endeavour to stock an extensive selection of paintings from the wider regions of Katherine and beyond. The selection ranges from the unique tourist gift to artworks of significant importance and collectable value. At the end of the tour, view and perhaps purchase some of the Indigenous art and didgeridoos. Tour concludes approximately 2.5 hours after commencement.
