Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet National Park - Active Day Tour Visit Wineglass Bay lookout to see one of the World's Top 10 Beaches! The tour departs Hobart heading east then following the coastline north, with amazing views of Maria Island and the coastal scenery along the way.Travel through the seaside towns of Orford and Swansea as you make your way to Freycinet National Park.Enter the Freycinet peninsula, have a brief stop at the Freycinet Marine Farm for anyone interested in the local oysters, mussels or crayfish fresh from the pristine waters. Walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, this is a moderate uphill walk of around 45 minutes.Once at the top you are rewarded with that world famous view of Wineglass Bay and the stunning Freycinet National Park.Enjoy the moment, take in the views and let our guides help you with those sought after photographs.The walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is one of the Great Short Walks of Tasmania and requires good mobility and adequate fitness.It is 1.3 km uphill, before returning downhill.Sturdy footwear, runners are fine are best for this walk.
From the Lookout you have the option to return to the start of the walk with our tour guide, or for the keen walkers you can choose to spend the rest of your time completing the walk down to Wineglass beach.Wineglass Bay Beach Walk This is a 2.5 hr return walk and adequate fitness is required.Our tour has ample time for you to do the full walk to Wineglass Bay Beach and return.
Once on the beach you can enjoy our lunch in this stunning setting, jump in the pristine waters for a swim, or wander along the white sands.This is one of the most rewarding walks in Tasmania to a stunning location.If you prefer to select the shorter walking option, then return from the Wineglass Bay Lookout with our Tour Guide and explore other areas of Freycinet National Park.Visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse and Great Short Walk.After a very full 4 5 hours at Freycinet National Park we begin the trip back to Hobart.Have a short stop to see the local highlight, convict built Spikey Bridge and no trip to the East Coast is complete without a stop at the delicious Kate's Berry Farm.Kate is serving up Berry Ice-creams, desserts and other sweet delights such as jams, sauces, chocolates and jellies, a delectable way to finish the day!.

A huge day out on the Tasman Peninsula exploring Richmond, Port Arthur and all the gems along the way. We focus on an active day, enjoying one of Tasmania's Great Short Walks along the Waterfall Bay Coastline. We continue onwards to spend around 4 hours at the Port Arthur Historic Site an awesome experience wandering the open air museum discovering the rich preserved history. Along the way we stop at all the great highlights, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Doo Town, Pirate's Bay Lookout and our last stop for the day is the delightful village of Richmond before returning to Hobart.

Port Arthur, Richmond and Tasman Peninsula - Active Day Tour Today is action packed and fast paced, make an early start from Hobart and drive directly to the stunning Tasman Peninsula.This area has amazing history, fascinating stories and amazing scenery.It is also home to Australia's highest sea cliffs.We enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout which provides a great vantage here of the surrounding area.Passing through Eaglehawk Neck and The Dogline our Tour Guides will share with you all the great stories of the area.Then we begin one of Tasmania's Great Short Walks.This is a short but spectacular track along the Waterfall Bay Clifftop.The walk is around 45 minutes, undulating and categorised as an easy walk.
The track concludes at the remarkable rock formations of Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen.
Continuing our journey, you arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site.As you enter the Port Arthur Historic Site, there is a wealth of information and history to take in and you will have ample time to explore and discover the nooks and crannies with around 4 hours on site.Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a guided walking tour with one of the Site's expert guides.Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this inescapable prison.With around 4 hours here, you have ample time to walk amongst the main penitentiary; see the solitary confinement cells and many more buildings in this World Heritage open air museum.
On our return to Hobart, make a stop at Federation Chocolate Factory, a small family run boutique chocolate stop, with a variety of chocolate flavours to sample.Further along we arrive in the late afternoon into historic Richmond Village.
Meander the streets, stop for a coffee, visit the Lolly Shop and walk across Australia's oldest bridge still in use a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted! Finally, before you re-enter Hobart, stop for a fabulous view across Hobart from a local lookout.A picturesque way to return to the city.

Russell Falls is easily Tasmania's most recognisable waterfall with its 3 tiered drop.It is an easy and enjoyable walk along a beautiful track that takes us to this photogenic waterfall and beyond to Horseshoe Falls.We also make our way along the Tall Trees Track where high above you stand the giant Swamp Gums 80 metres tall.This is a series of short, spectacular walks amongst the cool and quiet rainforest, eucalypts, streams and local wildlife.Further up into the National Park we join the Pandani Grove Trail which takes you around the alpine Lake Dobson.Soak up the wilderness and surrounding mountain air in this lesser visited region of the park.Lake Dobson is often covered in a layer of ice and surrounded with snow in the winter months just gorgeous! Maria Island has a diverse range of highlights including convict history, spectacular coastal cliffs and deserted beaches. Access to the island is by Ferry for foot passengers only (no cars on this island). Bring comfortable walking shoes ready to stretch your legs and explore this island paradise. Just one hour's drive from Hobart to the ferry and 45 minutes across the water, brings us to Maria Island - a stunning island National Park. It is rich in local wildlife, amazing scenery and world heritage convict history. We enjoy a series of moderate walks exploring the beautiful Painted Cliffs, the dramatic Fossil Cliffs and the remarkable Darlington World Heritage convict site. With no cars on the island the area is peaceful, beautiful, the pace is slow and relaxed, and the beaches are perfect for summer swimming. This is a tour for active travellers who are keen to walk and enjoy this unique island. Setting out on foot we have 2 main walking trails for the day, covering a total distance of almost 10 kilometers. Both of our walks are categorised as Great Short Walks of Tasmania. The Painted Cliffs Walk at Hopground Beach feature the beautifully patterned sandstone cliffs. The Fossil Cliffs walk, takes us along to amazing cliffs that drop sheer into the ocean. It offers a fascinating insight into the past environments of Maria Island along with expansive views of the Freycinet Peninsula. Have an opportunity to swim, photograph and soak up the island life as Maria works its magic on you. Maria Island is a National Park so we are exposed to all that nature will offer on the day, so please come prepared. The island is a haven for abundant wildlife, it is one of Tasmania's bird watching hot spots. Wombats can also be seen around the island, as well as Pademelons, Forester Kangaroos, Bennetts wallabies and Tasmanian Devils. Even the ferry ride is part of the highlights of the day, the waters we cross are also abundant in sea life, we keep our eyes peeled for dolphins, seals and penguins along the way.
