A heritage listed lighthouse first commissioned in 1836, with all of the original working mechanisms remaining, including the prisms. Begin the day walking up the Truganini Lookout and Neck Wildlife Zone and visiting Adventure Bay. Along the way, pick up oysters and a selection of Bruny Island Cheese and wood-fired oven bread, before heading to one of the pristine beaches to sample the cheese and oysters, picnic style (If it is raining, we stop at the Mavista Falls Reserve or one of the many suitable locations). Then take a scenic drive through rainforests to South Bruny National Park for your exclusive Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour. Here, you will be astounded by the spectacular and rugged coastal views, expanses of coastal vegetation and the wildlife including whales, white wallabies, eagles, echidnas and more that call this area their home. Go on a tour of the Iconic Cape Bruny Lighthouse and learn about the history of this lovely building, taking in sea views from the balcony. Up next, you will relax at Hotel Bruny for a lunch of local produce, overlooking Sunset Beach and the d'Entrecasteaux Channel. Bruny Island Nature and Bushwalking Day Tour to Mars Bluff on the Cape Queen Elizabeth Track, includes a Picnic Lunch, Truganini Lookout, Neck Wildlife Zone and Food Producer visits. Relaxing, educational and well-paced walk. Walk duration: - up to 4 hours with picnic lunch and morning tea in the Tea-Tree stands. Experience spectacular scenery and indulge in delicious Bruny Island produce on this full day tour, whilst learning about the small animals and birds that live in the bushland, lagoons and sand dunes. Bruny Island guide will tell you all about the plant life you see and even taste some of the edible plants along the way. The Cape Queen Elizabeth Track provides coastal heathland, spectacular scenery, Big and Little Lagoons, birdlife and beaches. The first part of the walk takes you along a track parallel with the Bruny Island air-strip, then runs between Big Lagoon and Little Lagoon, before steeply ascending Mars Bluff for stunning views across The Neck and unspoilt beaches. Stop for a cup of tea or coffee and some locally made fudge. The track follows the bluff before descending through the dunes onto the remote Miles Beach, with time for a quick swim for those who are keen. Enjoy a casual and delicious packed picnic lunch, featuring local produce, before spending more time exploring the coast. After the walk, the guide will drive you to the Neck Wildlife Zone, Truganini Lookout and viewing platform. Followed by a visit to local Bruny Island food producers, including stops at Bruny Island Honey and Get Shucked Oyster Farm and Bar. Depending on the weather, we either stay at the Oyster Bar to indulge in ½ a dozen natural oysters each or collect the oysters and head off to another little coastal area to enjoy with a local cider. Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Mars Bluff - Track Level Grade 3 Mars Bluff has moderate hill sections, some loose sand surfaces and formed hardened track sections. Bruny Island suggest a moderate level of fitness for this walk and if guests are uncertain please contact Bruny Island Safari's for more advice.

Day 1 Coffee and Snack at the Bruny Island Gateway on us…. Enjoy the Ferry journey to Bruny Island, crossing the d'Entrecasteaux Channel, one of Tasmania's most popular waterways boasting 300 km's of coastlines around the island and channel with 100s of sheltered bays for the sailors anchoring for a night away. Mavista Falls walk into the Tree Fern forests. A very easy walk…. Or join add the optional extra Boat Cruise by Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. Head over Mount Mangana to Lunawanna, through rainforests and experience amazing scenery across the island. Bruny Island guide will point out many of our Tasmanian Timber species and even taste some of our Tasmanian Pepper bushes if you are game. Enjoy a late Lunch at Bruny Island Premium Wines. Enjoy selecting from an extensive menu with a focus on local produce, and a glass of wine of your choice. Join a wine tasting and select a bottle of Bruny Island Premium Wine to take back to your accommodation for the evening (1 bottle per couple). Day 2 Enjoy your breakfast at a leisurely pace before the guide arrives to begin your second day exploring Bruny Island. Breakfast is supplied by Bruny Island and prepared by you in your own kitchen. Depart by 9 am. Bushwalk to either Grass Point (very easy 1-hour return - suitable for children) Or: 2.5 hours return to Fluted Cape (medium grade walk) An extension of the Grass Point and Penguin Island walks. From Grass Point, the track climbs steeply to the summit of Fluted Cape (272m), passing the very high sea cliffs. This walk can be changed to suit your ability and should be discussed prior to the tour commencing….The Fluted Cape walk allows you to experience dry forests, whaling history and evidence still seen today. Views towards the Tasman Peninsula, towering sea-cliffs, and the opportunity to see Wedge Tailed and White Bellied Sea-Eagles soaring in the thermals. Please note that this walk should not be attempted by young children unless closely supervised. White Wallaby can be seen on this walk most days. On the way to lunch, visit the local chocolate makers and sample some of their products. Then onto the Truganini Lookout and Neck Wildlife Zone - Amazing views across Adventure Bay towards Fluted Cape, Tasman Peninsula and D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Pay respect to the original residents of Bruny Island, the Nuenonne People. The Nuenonne band occupied Bruny Island on a permanent basis and their total numbers are estimated to be some 70 people. The Nuenonne people called the island Lunawannalonna. This name is retained in the names of two settlements on South Bruny, Alonnah and Lunawanna, meaning land across the water. Visit the local cheese makers- Bruny Island Cheese Co. for lunch, settle in for a Cheese Platter and Wood Oven Pizza with tea or coffee or enjoy a locally brewed beer or cider to accompany your lunch. Check out the Get Shucked Oyster Bar and sit down for a feed of freshly shucked oysters or cooked if you would prefer. Bruny Island Honey visit. Enjoy a tasting of some of their delicious honey and mustard, even sample some of their natural skin care products made with honey.
