Best of Cairns Tablelands
Adults: $177.00 / Children: $152.00

Get all the signature experiences of the Cairns Tablelands region in one tour with Billy Tea Safaris; exploring the high country west of the city; sampling local product and meeting local characters along the way. This full day tour, leaving every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday is a showcase of everything this high country has to offer. Perfect climate means perfect conditions to create amazing produce, and maintain World Heritage ecosystems. You will have more time out of vehicle to meet locals, see wildlife, taste produce and learn about the unique Indigenous and European history of this area. After climbing up to 500 metres above sea-level from Cairns, drive out of the rainforest and into the heart of Australia's fruit bowl. Welcome to Mareeba and award winning Coffee World for an introduction to Australia's largest coffee growing region. Sample coffee from all over the world, and locally made chocolates of every different flavour. Travel to one of the highest roads in Queensland as we travel through forest, rolling green hills, dairy farms on the way to the heritage town of the Herberton and the award winning Heritage Village. Here your guide will prepare afternoon tea after giving you plenty of time to explore a complete village from the 1800's. Cut through the backroads and onto our lunch stop to enjoy a selection of locally sourced meats, smoked on site at the Australian Platypus Centre plus a great selection of mains with all dietary requirements met. Your Billy Tea Guide will take you down to a lake after lunch, home to a population of Playtpus one of only two Monotremes (egg laying mammal) in the world. Then its time for a short hike through World Heritage rainforest, with the opportunity to see the Curtain Fig Tree, one of Australia's largest and oldest living trees. Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos and small wallabies live here. Remember the birdlife in Tropical North Queensland represents about 60% of all birds on mainland Australia, so enjoy the chorus of birds singing to you from high in the canopy. Finish the day at Tropical North Queensland's only distillery and celebrate a beautiful day of exploration, learning and fun!.
