5 Night Rowley Shoals Diving and Snorkelling - Horizon
Adults: $5,529.00 / Children: $5,529.00

Description:
~~ 01-Apr-2018 to 31-Mar-2020~~DAY 1
Your crew will welcome you aboard your luxury vessel around 5:00pm with drinks and canapés, before you settle in for a delicious dinner as we cruise towards the Rowley Shoals. You'll then have all night to familiarise yourself with the boat and your fellow passengers, as well as to settle into your cabin.

DAY 2
After arriving at Clerk Reef at approximately 8:00am, we'll make our way through the narrow channel to anchor inside the lagoon. Here we'll embark on our first dive of the trip, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the equipment and the new environment, which you'll find full of colourful coral, small caves and a multitude of tropical fish species.
The second dive for the day will be a drift dive through the channel to Clerk Reef, after which we'll have lunch inside the lagoon. There's a great opportunity here to enjoy some snorkelling before we head off for an afternoon drift along the edge of the atoll, at which point you can throw a line in to possibly catch a sailfish or two. With light permitting, we'll end the day with another snorkelling expedition before enjoying a sumptuous evening meal.

DAY 3
We'll set off to dive the Western Wall, a coral-encrusted wall with a steep drop and a rubbly bottom where you can explore cracks and caves dotted with shells and tropical fish. Back on the boat you'll enjoy a cooked breakfast while we cruise to the next dive site that's populated with pelagic fish and larger sharks. After we've explored the area, we'll sit down on deck for a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon we'll cruise around to dive Tiger Alley', where it's common to see tuna, mackerel, sharks and large cod. Out of the water, we'll spend sunset on a sandy beach watching the rare red-tailed tropical birds that nest on Bedwell Island. Weather permitting, we can have a barbeque, play a game of cricket or set off on a night dive around the anchorage area.

DAY 4
Our first dive of the day will be at The Crevasse', before sitting down to a cooked breakfast en route to Mermaid Reef. We'll then dive at both V in the Wall' a large V-shaped bommie jutting out of the reef edge as well as The Cod Hole'. As the name suggests, three big potato cod live here and they like to get up close and personal. The boat will then head in at sunset to anchor up for the evening, at which time we can go skurfing, snorkelling or take off on a night dive to the outer wall. As Mermaid Reef is a National Marine Reserve, there is no fishing permitted here.

DAY 5
Today we set off for the most spectacular dive site of the Rowley Shoals, known simply as The Wall'. This is a drift dive through a reef with a sheer vertical wall that plunges down 110 metres. Large sharks can be spotted here, including the rare greater hammerhead. Before lunch we'll dive down to The Caves', a great area for finding sleeping turtles and unusual shells.
In the afternoon we'll visit The Net', our most challenging dive site. You'll swim through an intricate web of reef, bommies, overhanging caves and cracks. This dive goes as far down as 40 metres, with stunning coral formations and tropical fish species to be found in abundance. The last dive of the trip will be at twilight, before we pack up and cruise back to Broome.

Day 1:
Board your vessel at approximately 5:00pm at Broome Jetty for welcome drinks and canapés. Your captain will then give a cruise and safety briefing before we head off, destined for the fabled Kimberley coast. Dinner will be served underway and there is the rest of the evening to relax, familiarize yourself with the boat and to settle into your cabin. We will be cruising all night.

Day 2:
Wake up cruising through King Sound and the Buccaneer Archipelago. Tide permitting, we will collect some legendary Kimberley oysters for the evening entrée. We will continue on for another hour and head toward Crocodile Creek where there is a freshwater swimming pool to relax in and hear some of the areas history in the mining industry. Enjoy the scenery as we cruise through the Koolan Island gap down to Talbot Bay where depending on the tides we can ride the exhilarating Horizontal Waterfalls in the dinghies.

Days 3 & 4:
We spend the next two days exploring waterfalls, Aboriginal art, Montgomery Reef and fishing in such places as the Sale River, Ruby Falls, Three Ways and Raft Point. Your vessel will leave early to cruise through the Kingfisher Islands on route to Raft Point. Here we will discover a fantastic Aboriginal art gallery overlooking the most fantastic panorama of Doubtful Bay. Raft Point is along the ceremonial route of the Aboriginal tribe that inhabited the area. We will learn a little of their history and Aboriginal Dreaming. In the afternoon we will cruise over to Ruby Falls for a freshwater swim and dangle a few lines for dinner as the sunsets. Raise the anchor early for a one-hour cruise to Montgomery Reef. This unusual reef structure, on the changing of tides, creates spectacular cascading waterfalls in middle of the ocean and then disappears again on the rising tide. It is home to turtles, crocodiles and numerous other fish life. Here we will use the dinghies to cruise the many waterways.

Day 5:
Camden Harbour is steeped in history as the first attempted European settlement in the Kimberley around 1864. It failed dismally and so we spend some time exploring the old settlement and hear the woeful tales! We will then cruise up the coast to Langii - an Aboriginal Dreaming site. Here you will see the mystical petrified warriors and maybe swim in the crystal ocean that this area always seems to have. We will make our way for most of the night to the Prince Regent River.

Day 6:
Everyone's favourite - today we tie your vessel up to King's Cascade waterfall. Here you will hear the harrowing story of Ginger Meadows who was eaten by a crocodile at this site in 1987. We will climb the cascade to swim in the multitude of crystal rock pools and cascades fringed with grass and trees. A truly memorable experience. On the tide we will depart from here back down the river to the mouth of Camp Creek.

Day 7:
We spend the morning fishing and exploring the tributaries; croc spotting, fruit batting and generally having a good look around. After lunch we head down Camp Creek for a trek to a beautiful waterfall and swimming pool. In the afternoon we will cruise up through Saint George's Basin to Careening Bay and the Mermaid tree of 1820. It is a stunning cruise passing Mt Trafalgar and Mt Waterloo. The tide will depict whether we fish along the way or not.

Day 8:
Today your vessel will be alongside Naturalist Island at the mouth of the Hunter River. It is here where your helicopter transfer will begin up to the Mitchell Plateau and back to Broome. The day will be a little messy with transfers so while you are waiting you may like to stretch your legs on Naturalist Island beautiful beach or join in one of the other planned activities.~~~~

Day 1:
Fly out of Broome in the morning heading north over the magnificent Kimberley landscape. What an opportunity to see the coast and area you are about to explore onboard your luxury vessel from a different perspective. You will fly onto the Mitchell Plateau where a helicopter will transfer you across the plateau, the Hunter River and to your luxury mother vessel for the next seven nights! Day 2:
Depending if we visited the Mermaid tree or not, we will then cruise down through Saint George's Basin to the mouth of the Prince Regent River and the infamous Kings Cascade.
